Welcome to Randy & Janet's 1998 South Pacific Voyage As you may have already seen, Janet keeps a Journal of her travels. This has been happening for quite some time. Janet decided that she wanted to convert her hand-written journal of our 1998 South Pacific travels into a web site. The following pages contain the details of our 10-week trip. Janet has typed out her journal of the trip and has also embellished some details from memory. The trip is not as detailed as our recent trips, which is probably a good thing since there is 10-weeks of journal. The planning of the 10-week trip was 3 years in the making. Janet had developed several itineraries of places to go, places to stay, how we were going to get there, what are we going to see, what is there to do, etc... Several trips to the travel agent, countless hours searching for information on the internet led to the culmination of a fantastic trip. The objective of the trip was to ensure that Randy could come back and say, "Yup, I definitely saw Australia & the South Pacific", and for Janet (since she had been there 10 years previously in 1988) to say "I have seen things that I hadn't seen before". Of course since Randy hadn't been to Australia/New Zealand/Tahiti or Fiji previously, there was going to be some overlapping places. Randy has inserted his 2 cents worth as well (just to keep Janet honest and to embellish his version of the details). We started keeping our Journal online ever since we went to Kauai in 2001 (Hapa + Haole @ Lawai).
