We had booked our Vancouver accommodation in the Fairmont Hotel right in the airport. The hotel was located not very far from where we exited Customs. So, we wheeled our cart of luggage over there and checked in. The hotel there is VERY nice. It was our cheapest room on the whole trip, but it was the nicest. Nice robes to use, and a nice duvet comforter on the bed. Nice big bathroom, and it had neat features like electronic signs saying Do Not Disturb or Please Make Up This Room. And the coolest thing was that there was this little ‘command centre’ on the one night table that controlled all of the lights in the room, as well as the TV. Randy had quite a bit of fun with that.

Hapa likes the “Command Centre”

We went for a walk around the hotel to check out the amenities, then we settled in our room to watch TV for a while. We turned off the lights at around 11:30pm. Randy fell asleep fairly quickly, but it took me quite a while. I checked the clock at 12:30am, and heard our watches beep on the hour after that, so I was up until at least 1:00am. We had a wake-up call for 5:00am, so it was going to be a short sleep.

Hapa needs more sleep.
