Aloha and Welcome to our vacation.

Woke up to nice weather again.  Randy went for a run, we had breakfast and then headed to the beach.  We tried to get there early (9:30) because we thought it would be really busy as today was Thanksgiving.  The beach ended up being fairly busy - but not nearly as busy as I thought it would be.  The weather was perfect - nice and warm with a good mix of cloud and sun so that you didn't get too hot or too cold.  We spent a lot of time just hanging out in the water.

Poke rice bowls for lunchWe stayed until about 1:00pm - only leaving because we started to get hungry.  We went back to the condo to have some lunch.  We had bought some poke from Eskimo Candy the day before, and had some leftover rice from supper, so we made ourselves some poke rice bowls.  We ate lunch out on the lanai.  It was really good.

After we had filled our bellies, we jumped in the shower to wash off the sand and salt.  We putzed around the condo for a bit, then decided to head to the Maui Tropical Plantation to see what was there.  We arrived there at 3:15pm - only to find out that they were closing at 3:30 because it was Thanksgiving.  We went in and quickly checked out some of the goods and ended up buying some little samples of some jam.  We went for a little drive through Wailuku and Kahului and then headed back to the room.  We just hung out in the condo until it was time to go out for supper.

Randy & Janet at the Monkeypod KitchenWe had made a reservation at the Monkeypod Kitchen.  We got there just before sunset, and they were able to seat us on the patio.  The restaurant had a Thanksgiving turkey special - which even included a turkey sandwich that they gave you to take home to eat the next day.  That was very tempting, but neither of us was hungry enough.  So, instead, I went with the turkey burger, and Randy got a mahi mahi burger.  We split an order of garlic truffle fries, which were very tasty.  Randy had a beer with his meal, and I ordered the Monkeypod Mai Tai - which was topped with a honey-lilikoi foam.  It was quite tasty.  We didn't have any room for dessert, so we settled the bill and headed back to the room.

We enjoyed some vodka and guava juice beverages, and then later on had the last 2 Krispy Kreme donuts.  Watched 'Despicable Me' on TV, and then went to bed around 10pm.
