Welcome to Day 7 of Janet and Randy's Kauai Adventure 2014

Wednesday, November 12th, 2014

Woke up to overcast skies, but at least it wasn't raining.  By the time we finished breakfast, the clouds were starting to break up, so we thought we would head to Larsen's Beach to see if the weather was good up there.

The sky was pretty clear when we got to the beach, so we headed down and hung out for a couple hours.  Around 11:30am, it started to get really clouded over, and even looked like it could rain.  So, we packed up our stuff and headed back to the resort.  It was also enough time in the sun, as we still don't have much of a tan yet.

Randy having lunch at NawiliwiliWe showered up, then headed into Lihue to grab some lunch at Fish Express.  We got a spicy ahi rice bowl and a macadamia-crusted ahi plate lunch.  We took our food down to Kalapaki Bay to eat lunch by the ocean.  The food at Fish Express is so good, we wolfed it down in no time. Hard to go wrong with fish in Hawaii.

We went to Costco to get some gas in the car, then headed back to Kapaa for the Farmer's Market at 3:00pm.  We got there a few minutes early - which was good as it would've been tough to find a parking spot if we had come any later.  We picked up some fruit, and then headed back to the resort.  On the way, we stopped at Ola Massage to see if they had any availability for some massages.  Randy's foot had been really bothering him since we got here, and so he thought a massage would help.  I'm always up for a massage, so was willing to tag along.

We found out that they could accommodate the both of us at 5:00pm, so we drove back to the resort to hang out until it was time.  The massage place was only a couple of blocks away, so when it was time, we just walked over.

My massage therapist was Susan, and Randy's was Jill.  Susan gave me a very relaxing massage, and it sounds like Randy had a good massage as well (by good, that means being beaten up).  We walked back to the resort, then hopped in the car to drive to Lihue for supper.

We had heard of a Thai food truck (Anatta's Thai Food) that is located in the parking lot of the Ace Hardware.  We had heard good things from our friends Pat and Mike, so we thought we would give it a try.  We got a shrimp Pad Thai and a chicken green curry.  We also got a couple of BBQ chicken sticks.  It was all very delicious.  It was a bit odd eating at a food truck in the middle of an empty parking lot.

Then it was back to the resort, where we started to get some things packed up for move to the Lawai Beach Resort tomorrow.
